The National Canine Cancer Foundation
Presents The 6th Annual
Gulliver's Run
Sunday, November 4, 2018

It is hard to believe that we are now planning year number six for "Gulliver's Run". But yep, Sunday, November 4th will be our 6th year of fighting against canine lymphoma in honor of Gulliver's battle. Anyone who has had that experience understands our mission. We honor Gulliver's memory, yes; he was a fighter to the end! But we want everyone who has ever lost a dog to canine cancer to join us and celebrate the good times, the good memories, and to be a part of helping to fight back against a disease which touches too many families and their beloved canine friends. Dogs just want to have fun with their humans. That's what we sincerely hope "Gulliver's Run" represents to those of you who join us in November, a day of enjoyment and smiles, maybe some tears, and a time to celebrate that special bond that exists between people and dogs. Get some exercise, run or walk the 5k course on the beautiful trails of Pinchot Park.

In 2017 "Gulliver's Run" had over 250 human finishers (run and walk combined) and 160 four-footed finishers. This event is very family friendly. Our top race awards for the past 5 years have been custom made pottery items. The awards are presented to the top 3 male and female teams-runner and dog, and to the top 2 male and female walker teams-walker and dog. We also have one award for the top male and female runner without a dog. (We sadly note for 2018 that we will still have the same award structure, but we lost our dear friend Toni, the creator of those awards, to cancer in December.) There are age-group awards for the runners as well, regardless if they have a dog or not. NOTE--We are adding age group awards for walkers for 2018! We encourage everyone to run or walk with their dog, as long as the dogs are sociable, utd with their vaccinations, and able to safely handle the 5k distance, of course.

In addition to the race awards we give out over a dozen, special custom-made awards, all with a canine theme. Examples- largest dog, smallest dog, oldest dog, youngest dog, the dog travelling the longest distance with a human to participate in "Gulliver's Run", and the list goes on.

We also offer the "Gulliver Rue Award" to the first Vizsla to finish the 5k. Another very special award is the "Hobie Award" presented to the family of the dog whose story about battling canine cancer best exemplifies the spirit and intent of "Gulliver's Run". 2018 will also be the 4th year for the "Gulliver's Challenge" Trophy, a travelling trophy presented to the veterinary practice that raises the most funds for the battle against canine cancer. Contact us directly at jheycock@ptd.net for information about any of these special features of "Gulliver's Run".

Pre-registration is recommended, but race day registration is available. Race shirts sizes and quantities are very limited on race day. The other race premium- runner's hats will be the option if your desired shirt size is not available. Entry fees are $25.00 until September 26th and $30.00 after that and on race day. Our race packets have some great goodies for people and dogs. We have plenty of food, music, dog-themed vendors - including some rescues (maybe you'll find a new running partner-with paws!), canine health information including cancer treatment and options, and really, really great raffle baskets! Pet blessings are available as well as pet photos from our special friends Nate and Debbie! If there is enough interest, commemorative sweatshirts will be available to order.

Please join us for the 6th Annual "Gulliver's Run", Sunday, November 4, 2018, with a 10:30 start. We are proud to remind everyone that the proceeds from "Gulliver's Run" are donated to the National Canine Cancer Foundation and are applied 100% to research and treatment that directly impacts the fight against canine cancer!
