Canine/Human runners (limited to 150 teams), solo runners, and hikers-with and without dogs all start at 10:30 AM. Hikers please start at the back of the running pack. All dogs participating must have their human companions provide proof of current rabies vaccination and have their human companions sign the waiver. No Exceptions! We are also excluding all dogs in heat.

5k Trail Run, wheel measured and professionally timed. Course follows parking lot/macadam road for 1st quarter mile, then follows single track trails and wider open trails through the forest of GP State Park before the final quarter mile to the finish along the beautiful lakefront. There are some moderate up hills and equally energizing down hills. There could be some mud and wet areas as well as the usual natural hazards associated with a trail run. The course offers a moderate challenge overall.

Top Overall Canine/Human Teams, age-group awards, and special awards in a number of different categories, most connected to the general theme of this event-the relationship between dogs and people. Please note: solo runners not eligible for the top finisher awards (they go to canine/human teams) but are eligible for age-group awards and several of the special awards. Please see website for awards and award structure. No duplication of awards.

$25.00 if registered by September 26th-includes choice of premiumólong sleeved T-shirt or event hat. After September 26th and through race day fee is $30.00. T-shirts / sizes will be limited after September 26th. Race day registration fee w/out a premium is $25.00.

Gifford Pinchot State Park is approximately 14 miles southwest of Harrisburg, PA, take Exit 35 Lewisberry (PA rt. 177) of Interstate 83 travelling south from Harrisburg. Travelling north on Interstate 83, from Baltimore, take exit 32 Newberrytown (PA rt. 382). Follow the signs for Gifford Pinchot State Park at the end of the exit ramps.
